People Like Us (Season 2)

Project for:

Action for Aids, in collaboration with Pilgrim Pictures

Overview

People Like Us (Season 2) is a narrative short series commissioned by Action for AIDS, created to raise awareness around HIV, STDs, and the lived realities surrounding prevention, stigma, and care. The stories were developed in response to issues encountered through the organisation’s work on the ground.

I worked on the series as the Producer.

Production Approach

The project was produced on a limited budget, requiring careful planning and efficient use of resources across all stages of production. With a large cast and technical team involved, the focus was on maintaining clarity and coordination throughout the shoot.

I worked closely with department heads to plan ahead, minimise waste, and ensure the production remained aligned despite its constraints.

Outcome

People Like Us Season 2 was completed and released primarily through online platforms. The series received an Emmy nomination, becoming the first Singaporean web series to be recognised in the category.
